We help the young person choose

There are many different options for young people today, and it can therefore be difficult to choose the right one.

There is often a lot of pressure on young people to achieve a grade, pass the next exam or be declared ready for education. A pressure that young people can benefit from taking a break from.

The education system offers young people a daily routine filled with tests, checklists, plans, learning goals, etc. But where is the education of young people as people? The development of their faith in themselves? The development of their sense of adventure? The development of people? And the development of their social skills?

At Ribe Youth College, we focus on the whole person. It is actually more important to us that the young person seeks to find answers to “Who am I?” than to find answers to “What should I become?”. It is about education and human values and qualities – and about how we each tackle life’s big questions. When you are clear about your values and attitudes as a person, you can also make better educational and career choices.

Let the young person find the zest for life

Young people should be able to grow and mature, and not be paced forward. That is why we provide space and time so that the young person can develop personally, professionally and socially at the pace that is necessary.

We create the framework for young people to be allowed to stop and think twice about their lives and future aspirations. After college, young people are more clear-headed, have new ideas, a zest for life and focus, and may even have set clear goals.

It is often a good idea to stop and think about which path you want to take. It may be life in general that is straining your legs, but it may also be questions about educational paths that require you to think twice. When a young person chooses their secondary education, it is a big decision that requires them to take responsibility for themselves, their education and their future.

Here at Ribe Youth Folk High School we are working on asking the relevant questions and searching for meaning. Where am I? Who am I? What am I good at? Where do I belong? What do I want?

A stay at a college is a respite where young people immerse themselves in topics and subjects of their own choosing. Here they get a break from grades and exams and can spend the time cultivating their interests, making some great friendships and getting to know themselves better. All of which helps them when they start their education again.

Preparing for a youth education

A stay at a youth college is very relevant for young people who do not have a clear idea of what they want to do after 9th/10th grade or who have not been declared educationally ready.
