Let the young person find the zest for life
At Ribe Youth Folk High School we emphasize that you experience different and new things and that you try out what you think is exciting. We laugh, have fun, sing and much, much more. We do not have exams, tests or tests and you choose your own subjects. Folk High School's workshops and rooms can be used outside of classes. For an active folk high school student, the school is always open.
We work closely with what shapes us as people. We have a long tradition of preparing young people for life and the future, and for inclusion in communities.
A stay at a college can be the key to your future – a key that you yourself help find and figure out how it works.
Folk High School is your home while you are here, and you are largely involved in creating the content of your own high school experience.
At Ribe Youth Folk High School everyone is welcome. We want a diverse student body where there is room for difference, where diversity is a quality and where we are both amazed and inspired by each other's different thoughts and actions as we develop together.
The vast majority of our students choose to take an 11-month college stay – from August to June. If you think a shorter time is fine for you, you can choose to take either an autumn semester from August to December or a spring semester from January to June.
If you want to take 2 classes, or more, consecutively, it is always possible. So you can actually attend the college for more than one year if that fits best with your plans.
You must be 16 years old – and not yet 19 years old – on the day the course starts.
Can I start later?
We are continuously accepting applications until all places are filled.
You have the opportunity to start even if the course has already started.
We make a lot of effort to integrate everyone who starts later, so that you very quickly feel at home and comfortable in the overall student group.
Later admission is only possible as long as there are places available at the college.
