DANISH LANGUAGE & CULTURE

Moving to a completely new country can be a big change. We provide our international students with an introduction to Danish language and culture, so that they can better navigate both at the college and in society. We want the students to gain a greater understanding of their new home, and hopefully feel that it will be easier to adjust.

SUBJECTS FOR INTERNATIONAL YOUNG PEOPLE

We have a special subject for international students who want to learn the Danish language and culture. The subject is called Danish, and you will find it in both the autumn and spring semesters.
"Red porridge with cream" is not easy for everyone to say! That's why we offer this crash course in Danish language and culture, so you can better follow the conversation at the lunch table, in Brugsen or on the bus.
Through a collaboration with Danes Worldwide, our international students receive a 10-week online language course in Danish.

INTERNATIONAL AND SUPER DANISH

A Folk High School course is a complete introduction to life and culture in Denmark. About a third of our students are international – the rest are Danish. This means that you will spend time with a lot of Danish young people, and through the community you will learn a lot about being young in Denmark and about living and studying here.
The international study environment is characterized by Danish values and traditions. We emphasize informality, have a strong focus on participation and democracy, and we love to celebrate traditions such as Advent and Christmas, Easter and Midsummer.
Folk High School is just super Danish.
