Rules and guidelines

We don't have many rules, but please be aware of our few important guidelines.

Controller

Folk High School is your home while you are here. It is also the home of many other people, and it is important that we all make sure that it is nice to be here. Basically, it is about well-being and general consideration – and that everyone should have a good time at the college.

The freedom you have as a college student to make your own choices also entails a great responsibility to think and act within the school's framework. When everyone does this, together we can create a strong, safe and sustainable community.

Come and join

You have come to the college to experience something new. Therefore, participate in all subjects, meals, assemblies, joint events and practical activities.

The rooms

Your room is your responsibility throughout your stay at the college. When you vacate the room, it must be left in good condition. If you live in a double room, you share the responsibility.

Disease

If you are sick, you must report yourself sick at breakfast. If you are sick while you are at school, you will stay in your room all day until the next morning. You will have the opportunity to rest and recover and you will not infect everyone else.

Free/holiday

The Folk High School course has no holidays other than the Christmas holidays. Please pay attention to the course calendar where holidays, theme days and weeks, study trips and special events are noted. If you need time off to go to the doctor, dentist, etc., this must be agreed in advance with your contact teacher.

Smoking

Smoking and vaping only takes place in the school's smoking pavilion.

Alcohol and drugs

It is not permitted to bring alcohol or drugs to the college. Alcohol may be enjoyed at special events hosted by the college. The college does not accept that a student uses or possesses drugs. Use or possession of alcohol or drugs may result in immediate termination of the college stay.
